FREIGHT SHIPMENT INFORMATION — CURBSIDE DELIVERY AND EXTRA SERVICES
LifePlay playsets and other large items are shipped via Curbside Shipping. Unless your order is a replacement piece or accessory, LifePlay units are placed on a large pallet and crated. Unit crate size is shown in the product details. A freight tracking number is assigned to the order when it is sent out from the factory.
Delivery will be done by a nationally reputable freight company via tractor/trailer (a big truck). The driver is only responsible for delivering (driving) the order to your curb. A delivery appointment is scheduled by the freight company via the phone number(s) you provide in your order. No delivery will be made unless an appointment is set. The delivery person will require your assistance in unloading the order, and it may be necessary to break down the crate for it to be unloaded.
Any additional services, such as two-man delivery, inside delivery, lift gate, or address change are not included in the price of the freighted item. The cost of these additional services varies from city to city. They usually cost between $35.00 and $150.00 extra. You may purchase these additional services directly from the freight carrier when delivery is scheduled if you require.
It is a good idea when you make your appointment, to have the freight company call you 30 to 45 minutes before delivery so as to avoid having to wait for the driver to show up.
The bill of lading tells what is being delivered and where. When the delivery is made, you must sign the bill of lading to accept the delivery. PLEASE WRITE ON THE BILL OF LADING ANY DAMAGE TO THE CRATE OR TO THE BOXES. MAKE SURE TO NOTE THAT THE QUANTITIES BEING DELIVERED MATCH THE QUANTITY ON THE BILL OF LADING. If the damages or missing quantities are not written on the bill of lading, we cannot file a claim with the freight company and it is the responsibility of the customer to replace the damaged or missing parts. CONCEALED DAMAGE, meaning damages found that are concealed by packaging or are not seen from outside the box, MUST BE REPORTED TO THE SHIPPING COMPANY WITHIN 24 HOURS. Please inspect your equipment immediately upon receipt.
